Deconstructing Equality: An Analysis of Trump’s Executive Orders

People of the United States have the right to be racially inclusive, gender inclusive, and have a culturally responsive education. At the end of January 2025, the President and the Executive Branch began to remove all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) infrastructure from the federal government and the public education system. The rollback of DEI efforts echoes a long history of educational exclusion in America. This white paper considers the anti-DEI executive orders in the context of marginalized communities’ fight for equal access to education.
